Foot Placement Variations On The Leg Press
It’s no secret that the old tried and true method usually works in most occasions. But sometimes…you just want to switch things up a bit. If you use the leg press regularly, sometimes doing it the standard way can get boring. And for that reason, I created this leg press foot placement variations infographic. Enjoy!
No doubt the squat is great for overall leg development. However, the legs are a large muscle group that get worked almost constantly throughout the day. For this reason, it helps to use different exercises and lots of volume to work out your legs effectively.
I often like to use the leg press machine because it doesn’t put any strain on your spine like the squat or the deadlift. Also the leg press is an extremely versatile machine which allows you to target different areas of your legs just by simply changing your foot positioning.
Towards the bottom of the infographic you’ll notice that I’ve included a diagram showing how to target your calves. If you didn’t know this already you can do calf raises on the leg press by pushing on the very bottom of the foot platform with the balls of your feet! You don’t even need to move the safety levers because the range of motion is extremely small and this makes doing your calf raises on the leg press extremely safe.
Well that’s it for this article. Next time, I’ll show you guys how to target muscles in other parts of your body using the same principles. Thank you for reading! I hope you’ve enjoyed my infographic displaying the various leg press foot placement variations. Please leave your questions, comments and concerns below in the comment box!
